in early 1950’s two important inventions change the image of
the computer field. These discoveries uses the magnetic core memories and the transistors
circuit elements. This quickly found its way into new models of digital computer.
These machines are very expensive
and were also complicated to operate.
Such computers were mostly found in large computer centers, government
organization and research &development laboratories. Those computers mostly
worked on a single problem at a time. During this period, the major computer
manufacturer’s began to offer a range of computer equipment with different
rates as well as accessories such as:
- Card Reader
- Printer
- Cathode-ray-tube
These were widely used in business
for the following
- Accounting
- Payroll
- Inventory control
- Ordering supplies
- Billing
Central processing unit(CPU) for
these usage did not have to be very fast and were usually used to access large
amount of records on a computer file. The computer systems were sold for
applications such as hospitals, banks, defense etc.
More recent advancement
In 1980’s very large scale integration
(VLSI), in which hundreds of thousand transistors were placed on a single chip
became more and more common. The trend continued and led to the introduction of
personal computer (PCs), which are smaller in size, inexpensive and used by
individuals.
This new generation, the so-called
“fifth generation” is using new technologies and will be capable of amazing
features such as artificial intelligence. The cost of computer is rapidly
lessening, and their convenience and efficiency are expected to increase in the
early future.
Recent advancement in computer and software
technology are the base for the society of tomorrow. These fields required
different sets of resources like computing hardware, internet, and software and
hardware tools. Mobility technologies, Storage system, Management and Security
technology.
Each year technology brings a
wealth of advancement that could alter the future. Many of them are long way
from being viable, and some may never come to fruition, but the mere fact that
each day is another day chance for the world to solve the manage fuel crisis,
or cure cancer is inspiring. Every year brought numerous huge advancement
across multiple fields from holographic computer to a new blood test, that
could help aid the early detection of cancer.
Everywhere you look technology has a hand in
pushing society forward, and closer to solving our biggest issues. Its
impossible to know which of these will go on to actually impact to our daily
life, but at their earlier stages the potential is enough.
Its incredibly hard to make a list
of best advancement in science and technology for a year. Each one feels just a
vital as the next. All are in different ways and different reasons, at the end
of it, a few stood taller than most.
Computer on a stick
Portable computers are nothing new,
everywhere laptops, tablets even smartphones get more powerful and more capable
of handling most uses of daily computing needs. Still, 2 intriguing pieces of
hardware released in 2015 took the entire hardware of a computer and squeezed
it into a device slightly larger than a tube of lipstick, and for a fraction of
price. Intel’s computer stick turns any HDMI enables screen into a computer.
Neither device will blow you away with spaces, but they open a wealth of
possibilities for a small business, education & more.
Contact to multiple cellular network
Our relationship with mobile
carriers has a grown more terse in recent years. And the technology industry
has taken mote. T-Mobile is attempting to shove the idea of being an unvaried down our
throats, while still retaining many of the debilitating secrecies that has
defined the cellular services business, but other, genuinely interesting, ideas
have to born from all the tension. One of them is Google’s project Fi, which
not offer only aggressive pricing and refreshing simplicity, but is built on
cool technology as well. Unlike the most SIM cards which connect to a single
service provider, the Fi SIM allow a user’s phone to dance between WIFI, T-Mobile
or Sprint and does so automatically depending on what signal is strongest. It’s
a powerful idea, to have optimum connectivity with little hand-writing, but
unfortunately for early adopters and big dreamers, Google’s project Fi still
has goliath companies standing in its way. Nonetheless, the concept is game
changing.
