Communication Link

To communicate different nodes in a network for transmitting data all nodes should have to link with the network. The means by which nodes connect to network is called communication link.
There can be two types of communication link

• Point-to-point link.
• Multi point link.

Point-to-point link

It is a dedicated link between two devices. Any other device can not use this dedicated link. The total capacity of the channel is reserved by specific device. e.g. tv remote control.

Multi point link

Multi point link is shared link. Two or more devices share a single link. The capacity of the channel either Spatially shared(Devices can use the link simultaneously ) or Time shared(Users take turns).
